“… love life no matter what happens.” Cassie and Joe

We have the best brides/grooms with such amazing and inspiring stories!  We would like to introduce Cassie and Joe. They married December 27, 2015. Cassie’s sister Corrie will be getting married in June of this year. (Stay tuned for their photographic story!)  It’s be such an honor to work for this awesome family!  We wish Cassie and Joe a lifetime of love and happiness!

Tell us a little about you.  When did you meet your husband? How long have you been together? How did you know he was the one?
We met in the fall of 2009 during my first semester of college.  We became friends very fast and it was just sort of natural for us to start dating.  We’ve been together ever since!  He proposed to me in 2011. I knew he was the one because he was my biggest cheerleader in my undergraduate.  He kept me laughing and when I got upset – he’d comfort me. No matter what crazy idea I had he supported me.  He’s the best guy I know.  He’s also the strongest.  He’s a military veteran and cancer survivor.  He’s a constant reminder that with the right mentality you can keep going and love life no matter what happens.

How did you go about selecting your wedding photographer? (first thing on the list or last thing?, etc. )
We started booking vendors as I could set up appointments on weekends and holidays.  We live in New Braunfels so into wasn’t exactly easy.  We pretty much booked everything over spring break as I’m a teacher and could afford to spend a week going to different vendor meetings.

What were the top 3 most important things you considered when picking a wedding photography?

  • Packages
  • Photography style
  • Personality.  (It was important to me that I got along with the photographer.)

How did you hear about PHOTOconcepts?  What made you choose them over others?
My sister had found you first.  I wasn’t sure on the photographers that I had met.  She suggested I contact Gus to set up a meeting the next time I was in town as I was leaving the next morning to go home.  Gus emailed me almost immediately and offered to meet that very evening if I couldn’t meet in the morning.  He was very accommodating and met with us before I left.  I loved the photos I saw, he had the fastest timelines for pictures (I’m very impatient) and I overall felt at ease in our meeting.  It just felt right and I went with my gut instinct.  I wasn’t wrong!

How did you decide where to have your engagement or bridal photos taken and the style they were taken? Did you have fun?
My husband loves the Japanese gardens so we planned to go there for our engagement session.  Unfortunately they were closed for an event so Gus suggested the Fuller gardens as it was in the same area.  It was perfect! A friend of mine suggested a garden in Dallas for my bridal portraits.  Gus had never gone before but he was up for the challenge.  It turned out beautiful!
